Our daughter was diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) at her 6 month check up. When she ended up in a spica cast at almost 9 months we found a lot of blogs to be a big help in our coping and preparing for what to expect with life in a Spica. We hope this blog can help someone else.

Hi Lindsay! My name is Cat Rizzoni, and I'm an industrial design student at OSU. I know it might be a bit of a stretch, but is there any chance that I could interview you about your experiences with Mackenzie and her casts/braces? I am designing a device to help with living with a very young child in a Spica cast, and your experiences have been incredibly helpful! I would absolutely love your input. If you're interested, please shoot me an email at rizzoni.4@osu.edu. Thank you so very much!
Hi Lindsay, thank you so much for sharing your experiences. Our daughter is going in for a closed reduction in 2 weeks. Needless to say, we're not looking forward to it. I just wondered if you could remember how Mackenzie was after the procedure when she woke from anaesthetic? We're struggling with the whole sleep thing too.....how long before Mackenzie was sleeping 'normally' again? Our girl doesn't sleep thought the night, she still wakes once or twice for a feed. Sorry! shes just wakinh from a nap! got to go!!! thanks!xx
Hello Lindsay. I have found your blog to be very informative and helpful. We have just recently received bilateral displaysia diagnosis for our 3 year old grand daughter. I would like very much to connect with you.
